How Long Does Mediation Take?
Good question. It’s hard to predict how long mediation will take because every case is different. It depends on the complexity of your conflict, how many parties are involved, how good the communication is between each of you, and how much work you’re willing to do in between sessions. For In-person Mediation, the process can take anywhere from 1 to 12 sessions, where a session typically lasts from 60 to 90 minutes long. Compared to litigation which can frequently drag on for months and sometimes years – that’s lightening fast!
For those who opt for Online Mediation or Do-It-yourself Mediation, the same is true for you as well. But particularly for those who are eager to roll up their own sleeves and work their way through guided mediation, you will be setting your own pace – one that’s comfortable for you.
